Our goal as an owner’s representative is to make the experience of building a home enjoyable and to allow you to spend your time and energy where it is needed most. 

WHat is the owner’s role?

As an owner, you are the leader of your project team, and your vision is essential to a project’s success. When entrusting the design and construction of your new home with an owner’s representative, you want to know that all aspects of your project are being managed by a skilled professional who treats your vision as if it were their own. We work directly with the owner to ensure that the project meets their expectations and finishes on time and on budget. At every stage of the project, we ensure that all teams are aligned with the owner’s project goals and objectives to deliver a rewarding experience for owners and a successful outcome for all. ShepherdPMC offers peace of mind to the owner through an in-depth understanding of all aspects of design and construction.

Where do we work?

Our office is in Boston, Massachusetts. We comfortably serve clients throughout the United States. We are open to considering international projects. Much of our work can be performed effectively through virtual meetings. However, in-person engagement is essential, so we travel to you at the beginning and at critical points along the way.

Privacy and trust are important to owners. An owner wants to know that they won’t be taken advantage of. Shepherd takes confidentiality and privacy very seriously. As an owner’s representative, we carefully act as a liaison and communication vehicle to convey the owner’s expectations, vision, requirements, and restrictions to architects, builders, and project managers in a way that they understand. Our experience in the field also equips us to negotiate fair timelines and prices to ensure that there are no surprises.

HOw does SHEPHERD MAKE THE HOME-BUILDING process conflict-free?

We understand how projects go together, from the unique creative skills and responsibilities of the architect to the logistical and physical challenges of the builder. Our ability to communicate well and understand both the architect and builder prevents friction and promotes a collaborative and efficient workflow. As an owner’s representative, we translate the owner’s questions and concerns to the key players on a project in a painless way. We assist owners in explaining an idea or asking the team a question. We lead these professionals to perform at their highest level. Having an owner’s representative allows owners to communicate honestly, contribute without conflict, and make their project a better experience for themselves and for all.
